Don’t Be Ashamed of What You Believe In
I’ve come across a lot of people in my time who when around a certain crowd, act and say things one way but when they’re with a different group, are totally different from what they were a while ago. These are the people I like to think of as chameleons. They blend in with everybody. Everybody likes them. Often times they are never on one side of the pendulum or are strongly opinionated about one way of life. They just stay in the neutral zone. They are often times the life of the party. They listen to what others say and think about you. Now think about this. How are you ever going to make an impact in someones life if you always agree and are on the same page as them? Think about it. By not being in opposition with others in terms of beliefs, we would never have been able to be where we are this day and age with technology, money, athletics, or what ever the topic may be. Point is knowing what is contradictory to your beliefs helps YOU know how to grow stronger in YOUR faith. Who cares if people think your stupid if you can’t answer their question or if they “win” the debate. So they win the debate, then what? All that they did is make themselves feel good or that they are correct and superior over you. These are the kinds of people that if dealt with the wrong way, can bring you down. But that is the time where you cling to what you believe in most because if you don’t, people are going to shape you, influence you, and draw you away from what you believe in. Sometimes, though, what you believe in might not seem right and its those times you just have to humble yourself and realize that hey, you are right, I’m wrong. I want to know more. Please share your knowledge with me. I suggest you get stronger in your faith because when you are out there in the real world, you will base right from wrong, and good morals versus bad morals on what you believe in. Whatever the situation, when your faith gets tested, don’t be ashamed of what you believe in. If you let the world’s opinions affect you, you will never be able to live abundantly.
